Class Objective The need for organized institutions to
help regulate people in a society is the fundamental foundation for what
we call a government. Governments come in all types and sizes, and in general
are always evolving. This course will examine the types of governments
in the past and present, how they function, and their impacts upon the
population. We will pay particular attention to our own government, with
the primary goals of fostering an understanding of the system, an appreciation
of its' diversity and continuity, and a desire in staying actively involved
in government.
In order to help students stay on top of
their assignments, as well as have a way to contact the teachers outside
of school, this web site was made to be an extension of the regular classroom.
Mr. Irigoin's and Ms. Sewell's e-mails have been provided to help students with questions that crop up away from the classroom- please feel free to use them! Keep in mind, however, that the e-mail to the teacher provided here does NOT substitute actually discussing your problems or
questions to the teacher in class!! You are the primary person responsible
for your grade, so if you make the extra effort in class and on assignments,
you will have no problems in class!
Assistance for the Course In addition to the help this web site
offers the students, parents are also highly encouraged to this internet
classroom annex. There is a listing of the projects and assignments that
have been assigned in the class, as well as their due dates. We understand
that although in-person conferences are ideal, work schedules and life
in general can make that very difficult. Please feel free to contact the
your child's instructor through e-mail.
We wish all students good luck in this
summer school session, and great success from their graduation onward!!!!
